The parents of an eight-month-old have filed a complaint with the health minister against the Kottayam Medical Colleges childrens hospital. According to the complaint, their child’s health was not appropriately monitored after administering an enormous quantity of medicine, resulting in a heart attack.

On May 11, the infant named Josh AB was brought to the hospital by his parents, residents of Kottayam Manarkad, with a complaint of fever. The baby was diagnosed with Post-COVID Kawasaki disease, and the doctors chose a treatment plan based on the diagnosis.

The infant received an infliximab injection after being brought to the ICU at 9 p.m. on May 29. The parents noted that he was breathing strangely while in the room. They alerted the physician and nurses of the situation, who responded promptly.

However, they also revealed that the infant was not hooked to any of the monitoring systems by the attending doctor or nurses, despite being aware that administering this drug posed the risk of a heart attack.

The hospital superintendent stated that the infant suffered from serious heart disease. He stressed that there was no medical malpractice in the hospital.
